The Work:

Whatever the process, material or final product, there are non-negotiables to my approach to creating art. I study and respect theory - and I’m not afraid to flip it on its head to make something new and different; I believe in well-executed craftsmanship and clean precision; I believe in repetition and focus, working until it's right. There’s always honesty and humor; energy and commitment; a serious and curious drive to create high-quality, timeless work that’s a nod to the classical and a contribution to the contemporary.

Featured Project

I wanted to create a piece solely on the elements and principles of art; focused on aesthetic value and viewer experience-not emotional turmoil. Influenced by artists such as Olafur Eliasson, Lisa Yuskavage, and Tara Donovan, all of divergent media and unique processes, I took a keen interest in light, color, line, form, and those specific interactions, and their variants, within space.

Tensions Series

My spark for creating art: art with convergent points where classical theory meets modern work; where analog meets digital; where handcrafted meets laser cut. Transitioning classical craftsmanship through modern digitized techniques, I take, for example, the 600 years old technique of one-point linear perspective and flip it on its head by incorporating digital fabrication machines and laser cut cast acrylic; creating forms that oscillate between two-dimensional and three-dimensional, both visually and physically.
